On Wednesday afternoon Phoenix was playing in his room when all got quiet...which means he is doing something he is not suppose to do. I went in to check on him and he was climbing on the outside rail of his bed almost to the top about to climb in. It scared me so bad that when Clint got home we took the rail off and now he has a big boy toddler bed.
He was so excited when we took the rail off his bed. He hugged his bed and giggled with delight that he could now reach the bed by himself. He still has trouble getting on & off by himself, but everyday he gets better.
Wednesday night was the first night in his new bed and I was a nervous wreck. I don't think I slept good all night because I was constantly listening to make sure he wasn't up running around. It felt like the newborn days all over again. That first night he got up once due to the storm that was rolling through and I told him it wasn't time to get up yet and he went right back to sleep. Thursday night he slept all night and didn't wake up until 7:50am!!!! I am so thankful he is doing well in his new bed. I was worried about how he would do during naptimes in his bed, but all is quiet right now and he is sleeping fine. I am so thankful he adjusted well. I think it helped that we didn't switch beds or rooms because that would have thrown him off completely.
Tomorrow we are purchasing the bedding for his new toddler bed. As of right now I have made some other sheets/blankets/pillows work for now and have created a "crash pad" below his bed just in case he rolls out...which as I was writing this blog post...he did. He rolled out, but was getting right back in the bed when I can to check on him and he went back to sleep! We have a lot to do to get his room ready and also Baby #2's room. We are in the process of cleaning out Phoenix's playroom to make that Baby #2's room and we decided to use our big den we have in the basement as their playroom. Needless to say this weekend will be spent moving stuff & cleaning out!

He is just not old enough yet..I want him to stay little!! But I am glad he is doing so well. I wish we had convertible toddler beds when you were little!! It probably still would not have keep you in the bed!!!!
Love you,
Mom
