As our Little Guy draws closer to the 18-month mark, he is becoming more and more vocal. Yes, he still jabbers quite a bit, but you can tell when talking with him that his vocabulary is increasing tremendously. The conversations are becoming less one-sided. An example of that is his comprehension about animal sounds. Wendy and I have been working with him on his sounds and he's doing a great job with "duck" and "owl." If you ask him what the duck says, he'll smile a little and then say "kack, kack, kack." If you ask him what the owl says, he will pucker up his lips and say, "Ooooooo." We still have some work to do on other barnyard animals. Whenever we ask him what the cow says he sticks his tongue out. I'm not sure what that's about.
