It was a rather dreary, rainy day today, so we knew that we couldn't get the Little Guy out on the playground, so we spent the morning playing indoors. After his morning nap, however, we decided to get out and head to Toys 'R Us where we planned to purchase a few small toys for him.
Just yesterday he went in to the doctor for his 15-month checkup. Fortunately, his pediatrician gave him a clean bill of health. We feel incredibly blessed to have such a healthy baby. While at the doctor, however, he did have to get two shots - one for measles and the other for tetanus. Since he did such a good job and behaved so well, we decided to reward him with a toy.
As soon as we stepped foot inside the store he spotted some balloons by the cash register. He probably could have stared at those balloons all day. We finally had to pull him away and show him that in fact, there were toys to look at in this particular store.
Even though it's March, Wendy and I are already thinking Christmas, so we looked at some of the larger items, including a Little Tikes car for toddlers. We got it off the shelf, laid it on the floor and let the Little Guy take a test drive, which he really enjoyed.
He loved turning the steering wheel and pressing the horn. Wendy and I filed that away for this Christmas. I sent the picture to my parents and my in-laws and both sets of parents wanted to get the car for him right away. We had to reign them in and say, "Whoa, not so fast. We plan on giving this to him for Christmas." Gotta love grandparents.
For today's excursion, we found a big, bouncy blue ball that he really liked and three little stuffed Disney characters from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse - Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto. He loved the Disney characters. He's snuggled up with them in his crib right now.
